We will grant up to half the cost of the chosen renewable technology. There is a maximum award of £25,000 but most projects receive around £10,000.
The maximum amount would only be awarded to exceptional projects that tick all the boxes and demonstrate real value for money. Projects also need to have a really strong community benefit and wider educational element.
Applications should be innovative and have unique points. Given the number of applications and the competitive process, it is unlikely that certain types of project such as small, simple wind turbine in a school playing field, will receive funding unless there are other outstanding features in the application.
All these things are important to the Trustees when assessing each application and deciding which ones are to be funded. We are a small Trust with limited funds and unfortunately can’t offer funding to all the projects that apply.
So it’s worth taking the time to read the guidance information before completing your application form and providing all the information that’s requested thinking about all the things that will make you application stand out against the others.
The Trust meets twice a year to consider applications – usually during the first week of April and October.
|Trustees' meeting dates for 2014||Applications deadline - 7 weeks prior to Trustees' meeting|
|15 April 2014||25 February 2014|
Please submit your application as soon as you are able to. Applications will be screened for eligibility and completeness as long as they are received seven weeks prior to the Trustees' meetings.
The Secretary of the Trust will contact you if any further information is required to clarify your application.
The Green Energy Trust only exists because of the invaluable support of ScottishPower's Green Energy Fund Customers who donate their annual dual fuel discount.
These customers receive our biannual magazine, Green, which updates them on how the renewable energy projects they have helped support are having a positive effect across the UK.
